Find Your Story: Summer 2023

Summer camp is just around the corner! Soon the crazy of May and hustle and bustle of school life will slip away to be reduced to warm evenings, splashing pool-side, and big chunks of watermelon paired with an ice-cold sweet tea. This will be our first year to host summer camp at Storyteller's, and we can't wait! Soon the studio will come alive once more with magic, movement, theatre, and story. Each summer offering is creatively crafted for each student in mind to provide every opportunity for making, moving, and exploring.

With this in mind, our theatre educators have designed a magical line-up of bookishly theatrical experiences for a variety of interests. We are so excited to spend these days with you, and can't wait to see what story you find yourself in!

Here's What's On the Books:

"Peter & Wendy": A Teen Production Experience | June 19th-30th for Ages 11 to 17

In this two week, daily intensive for students ages 11 to 17, students will collaborate to creatively solve problems, design, and implement a fully immersive production of the adapted classic, "Peter & Wendy", by using song, movement, acting, and technical theatre to include costumes, props, and set. To cap off the experience, students will engage in special workshops with outside theatre professionals and community organizations throughout the week to enhance their skills and world experience as they prepare to stage this classic show for the community on June 30th.

This intensive requires an audition which will be held on June 3rd from 1:00-3:00pm. For more info and to sign up, please click the link HERE.

TREASURE ISLAND: Pirates & Mermaid Camp | June 26th-30th for Ages 5 to 10

Ahoy! Featuring songs and scenes from our production of "Treasure Island" along with "The Little Mermaid", "Peter Pan" and more campers will love adventuring the seas through movement this week as we dive into stage combat, movement, and production elements.

A MERRY UNBIRTHDAY: Alice in Wonderland Camp | July 10th-14th for Ages 5 to 10

You're not too late for a very important date! Students will craft scenes and songs from Alice in Wonderland during this week-long camp. Featuring songs from the Disney movie, scenes from the classic book, a Friday afternoon tea party (with a visit from Alice herself!) and other fun, zany activities.

SHERLOCKED: Mysteries & Conundrums Camp | July 17th-21st for Ages 5 to 10

It's not elementary! Students will investigate and design their own interactive theatrical experience for their families with their own thrilling mini "who-dunnit" and escape room a la Sherlock Holmes, Nancy Drew, and The Mysterious Benedict Society. With a special visit from The Museum of Osteology!
