Service Description

Campers ages 5 to 10 will have a blast "traveling" around the world with their tour guide as they learn about different theatre traditions from France, Italy, England, Greece, and Ireland! Campers will exhibit what they've learned in their own mini theatre festival the last day of camp. SCHEDULE Monday: Bon Voyage! (France) Campers will learn the tradition of French mime and clown through stage makeup, movement and pantomime. Tuesday: Viva L'Italia! (Italy) Campers will explore Commedia Dell'Arte, the Italian art of comedy, improv, and movement as students create their own character and costume. Wednesday: Myths & Mask (Greece) Campers will learn the origins of theatre as it dates back to the Greeks as they write their own Greek myths and craft an original Greek mask. Thursday: Shakespeare's Globe (England) Avast! Campers will learn the safety, technique, and steps to create their own bloody Shakespeare battle through theatrical stage combat. Friday: Day of the Festival (Ireland) Our last stop: Ireland! To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, campers will learn Irish folk dance and tell tall tales. In the afternoon, they will open up their suitcases for friends and families in their mini theatre festival to showcase all of the countries they visited throughout the week!
